A Farewell to Michael Jackson

No matter what you have read or heard in the news about Michael Jackson there is no discounting his God given talent. Whether the more sordid rumors were true or not about his obsession with young boys I believe judgment on such matters is best left to a higher power.

The honest emotion depicted on every channel is that Michael Jackson had more people who loved him rather than who loathed him. Even though there were the negative and cynical people who had their say the world is still in shock and continue to mourn his passing.

They broke the mold with Jackson:  no entertainer has achieved the level of success he has in his fifty years. We sang and danced with him for many years. We were in awe of his talent although we never understood him. No one knew why he wanted to change his appearance resembling more a wax figure than a human being but it was obvious along with the fame was loneliness and pain.

Like Elvis, Michael Jackson’s passing was tragic. We all believed there was a comeback and more music for him to share with his fans. The best thing we can do is honor his memory by listening and dancing to his music. Maybe he can find the peace in death he was unable to find in life.

Michael Jackson will be remembered as a mega-star. There will only be one King of Pop. The dark side of his life seemed to me as if he was a tortured soul. Maybe he only meant to get a night’s full sleep but whatever happened his sleep is now eternal. The sad fact is no matter what truth comes out as to the actual cause of his death I am sad that such a bright light in the entertainment world was burnt out.
